2011 Board of Directors

The Board Members work closely with the City of Castroville and strive to promote a positive growing business community. They show leadership by participating and leading various events in town and promoting local businesses through marketing and public relations. Have something you'd like to see done in the Chamber? Teri Barrow, Chamber President*

Friends of the Castroville Regional Park

Teri Barrow has lived in Castroville for the past few years and quickly jumped right in joining many organizations and helping where she was needed. She has been a member of the Chamber Board since 2008. She spends her time working as a travel agent, tourism consultant and instructor. She is married and has two dogs.

Monte Bippert, Chamber Vice President*

Owner, Bippert's Bottle Shop; Owner/Agent, Bippert's Insurance Services-Farmer's Insurance

Monte is a Castroville native and business owner. He has owned and operated Bippert's Bottle Shop since 1992. He recently took over the Farmer's Insurance business in Castroville and rejoined the Chamber Board. He was last Chamber President in 1999 and is the 2011 Chamber President. He looks forward to helping this community grow and prosper. He is married to wife Stacy and they have two children, Holden and Hadley.

Frank Danna

Owner/Operator, Frank Danna, D.D.S.

Dr. Frank Danna was born in Beaumont, Texas and raised in Big Foot, Texas.  He has been a member of the Castroville Chamber of Commerce since 1996 and has served as a director for four years. He is a graduate of Devine High School and a 1992 graduate of UTHSC Dental School. He has practiced dentistry in Castroville since 1996 when he purchased the practice from Dr. Robert Reed. Previously he served in the United States Air Force where he received training through a General Practice Residency program. He and his staff moved into their new dental office in October of 2007 located at 1313 Petersburg Street just behind the Castroville Post Office.  Dr. Danna has been married to his wife, Carmen Rivas Danna, since 1972 and they have three children,  Frank III, Paul Carlo and wife, Jessica, and Kathryn Concepcion.

Justin Haby

Owner, J.H. Storey Construction

Justin is a Castroville native who joined the Chamber Board in 2010. He is a 1999 graduate of Medina Valley High School and a 2003 Graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Construction Science. He has owned and operated his own Construction company for the past five years and specializes in new home construction and remodels. He resides in Castroville with his wife Sarah and their sons Joseph and Hayden.

Tanya Holzhaus

Business Development Officer, Stewart Title

Tanya joined the Chamber Board in January 2012 but was no stranger to the Chamber. You could always see her and the ladies of her office at chamber luncheons and events. She is a life-long Castroville resident where she lives with her husband and son. She attended San Antonio College and currently works at the Stewart Title Office of Castroville as the Business Development Officer.

Christi Griggs

Principal, Peloton Commercial Real Estate

Christi is originally from Levelland, Texas but has resided in Castroville for the past 26 years. She joined the Chamber Board in January of 2011 and is excited about helping in any way she can. She is a graduate of Texas Tech and the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor or Science in Design. She worked in commercial interior architecture for seven years before starting her career in commercial real estate. She is currently a principal at Peloton Commercial Real Estate. She currently resides in Castroville with her husband Troy and their three children, Justan 11, Britan 8, and Mykelti5.  

Judy Patton

Assistant Cashier, Community National Bank

Although she grew up not too far away in Floresville, Texas, Judy has lived in Castroville for the past 25 years. She joined the Chamber Board in 2011 and looks forward to helping her community. She is happily married to husband Bernie and has two children, Chad of Castroville and Kristal and her husband Ben of Austin. She has one granddaughter, Mercedes.

Arlene Smith

Co-Owner, Old Alsatian Steakhouse & Ristorante

Arlene is one of the newest Board members, joining us in January of 2011. She currently resides in Castroville with her husband Mike and 15 year old daughter Alex. Although she's only lived in Castroville for 3 years, she was born and raised just a stone's throw away  and has been apart of this community for most of her life. Her and her husband own several restaurants and automotive shops, which she helps run. She is very involved in the Economic Development & Historical aspects of Castroville and is trying her best to marry the two together in the best possible way.  

Joseph Winkler

Owner, Hotel Alsace and Spa

Although he's not a Castroville native, Joseph was born and raised just a stone's throw away in Hondo, Texas, and has resided in Castroville since July 2005. He currently owns and operates the Hotel Alsace and Spa and is part owner in the Alsatian Restaurant located in the Hotel. He has a Bachelor's of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin and is married with three children.

John Wommack

Owner/Dealer/Head Groundskeeper, Wommack Chevrolet

John joined the Chamber Board in 2011 and has quickly gotten involved in helping where he is needed. He has spent the last 28 years managing two Chevrolet dealerships in Medina County; Brown Chevrolet in Devine from 1982 to 2008 and the "new" Wommack Chevrolet right here in Castroville since 2008 which he purchased in 2010. He grew up in Austin, Texas and has a Business Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is married to wife Wendy and has one son, James, who lives in Austin. He is excited about being in Castroville and looks forward to being an integral part of the community.
