The Castroville Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a scholarship program which provides an avenue for local businesses and citizens to donate individual scholarships to local graduating seniors, and adults returning to school in the Fall.

The donor sets the criteria or conditions of the scholarship (for example, a doctor might want a scholarship to go to someone pursuing a medical education).  The Chamber Education Committee provides the screening, matching and awarding of these scholarships according to the donor’s desires. 

The donor receives civic recognition, honor for their generosity and the satisfaction of helping to further the dreams of a deserving young person.  The recipients are recognized for their academic and civic achievements and receive some material compensation towards their education.
